Memorial

How did the people of Ingersheim think about Hans Scholl in the past and what do they think today?

We got the information and a copy of the entry of the Scholl family in the family-chronicle from the parson of Ingersheim. We want to say "thank you" to him for helping us!

The father of Hans Scholl, Robert Scholl was mayor in Ingersheim for two years.

With his direct way to express his opinion, he was often rejected by the conservative and nationalistic people.

Because they didn't get along with Robert Scholl in those days, many, especially older people are reserved with regard to the Scholl family, even today. The owner of the house, where Hans Scholl was born, behaves in the same way. He refuses obstinately to fix a memorial tablet at his house.

He says the reason is that he wants to avoid crowds of people and outrages of rightists. But shouldn't the memory of Hans Scholl with regard to his house of birth be kept?

The memorial tablet is now fixed at the mortuary next to the cemetery of Ingersheim. Some say that more people pass there than at the house of birth, but is the mortuary really the right place?
